About Me

I am a recent college graduate and am traveling to Ireland and Scotland this summer with my boyfriend. I am from Edinburgh, and am excited to reconnect to the highlands. I enjoy hiking, music, art, going out and exploring!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My boyfriend, Travis, and I are looking for a place to stay while we are in Ireland. We both love meeting new people and want to connect with our hosts (if they want to) while traveling...so we chose Couchsurfing to help us do so!

Interests

I like spending my free time outside as much as possible, but also enjoy reading and watching movies too. I love trying new foods, and learning about different cultures and history. I am pursuing a Masters degree in Speech Therapy, and am very interested in language, and the ways people communicate. I think my interest in communication is linked to my interests in art, music, and performance. I am writing a play currently, and am going to Edinburgh for the Fringe Theatre Festival.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: The Goldfinch by Donna Tart, White Noise by Don DeLillo, Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami

Movies: This is hard to answer...so I'll put favorite genres: Drama, Comedy, Documentary.

Music: Also hard to answer...but: Neil Young, The Shins, Erykah Badu, The Flaming Lips, Kendrick Lamar, the Modern Lovers, Phantogram, Santogold, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, The Talking Heads, Nirvana, Modest Mouse, Of Montreal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In August of 2013 Travis and I went backpacking in Yosemite. It is by far the most physically challenging thing I've done, as well as the most epic landscape I've ever seen. The trip to Yosemite has been a catalyst for my desire to travel more, and proved to me that I am able to endure challenging environments.
