135 pounds of lean, mean biological machine that can, among other amazing talents, cook a meal to any dietary specification, run a marathon, mend a shirt, curse, fix a toilet, replace a sedan's side mirror, drink without having a hangover, perform integral calculus, sketch a landscape, fabricate a solar cell, change a tire, sing on key, dance to the beat, shovel snow, use semicolons properly, objectify herself, and (most likely)” kill. In fact, the only skills she lacks that a competent woman (cf. Heinlein) ought to possess are the abilities to butcher a hog and to conn a ship.

But nobody said she was competent. Just really frickin' awesome.

Hi, I'm an optimist. I'm half-Chinese and I listen to NPR. Sometimes. I like hiking and biking and exploring new places and meeting new people and not planning, but having a great time anyway. I also like trying new foods and trying on clothes. I'm pretty thrifty, but happy to spend a pretty penny on really good food or other really nice things. I like talking to other people, but sometimes feel really awkward due to my lack of knowledge about sports or TV shows. Other times I just talk and talk and talk and don't shut up. I enjoy exercise, but am really horrible at motivating myself to actually do it. I think science is wonderful and am nonreligious. Oh and I'm really bad at swimming.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness is a choice; success is an attitude. Live life having the most fun possible, hurting the fewest people in the process, and bringing happiness to everyone you meet.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've only hosted friends-of-friends thus far, but hopefully I'll make friends during my travels and then return the favor when my hosts visit LA.

Back when Klout (which I'm only on for the silliness and novelty factor) still had Klout Styles, they said I was a Socializer, which is probably the only time I'll ever put stock in anything Klout says. I like bringing people together and making new friends all over. It just so happens that several of my friends ended up being CSers as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted several people within two degrees of separation who have turned into friends :) Meet up with me while I'm traveling, and you'll be a friend, too! Dabbled as a surfer during domestic travels as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched the sun set over the San Joaquin Valley in California while perched atop a rock on a solo trip to Sequoia National Park.
