Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn to bake the best cheese cake.
ABOUT ME
I am sane, reasonable and considerate. Predictable but I am fun really! I like things that make sense: e.g. a balance sheet that balances; but I also like creativity and spontaneity. A bit hard to find in my day job, but lucky for me I can often find that in performing arts.
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others the way I like to be treated. Try to get along with everyone but at the same time know where to draw the line.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Referral by friends. They seemed to really have had some good experience. So I decided to give that a go.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Was hosted once in London. Hosted four people so far now. All good. I think the majority out there are honest and considerate. I feel really sorry for what I can read in CS profiles re experiences as hosts: fridge being used as a free mini-bar, host being treated as a skivvy/valet. I feel both sorry for the host and for the guest. It's rather obvious why it was bad for the host; and for the guest, probably it's not his/her own fault. To me, that sounds like one of the failures of society in socialising some of us the right way. Lucky for me all the guests I have had were all very responsible and thoughtful. One of them even made me a "Wienerschnitzel", though he used pork rather than veal. Still it was WICKED. Thanks again mate.
Note to self (16 July 2010) - I did not appreciate it when my guest didn't seem to even bother to try spending some time with the host. I didn't mean to provide my place as a hotel. When someone is hosting me next, I will make sure I don't give my host that impression.

Was in a small scuffle with a baby kangaroo in Australia. Ok...I have another one now. I took part in a theatre tour in Buxton (the Peak District of England) in July 2009. Loved it!!
