Travel as much as I can before grad school and the start of my family.

ABOUT ME

I have recently graduated undergraduate school and I currently work as a bookseller/supervisor. Of course I started looking for a stable job, but when nothing quite human enough caught my eye, I thought that this would be the perfect time to start travelling. Going to Paris has always been my dream and I finally did it! I lived with a family as their au pair for 3 months in January 2012. It was such a fulfilling experience for me. I grew up so much while I was there. Now that I have returned, I want to get more out of traveling again. I have discovered that it is a profound way for me to learn about the world and myself. Naturally, I will be traveling as much as I can in the near future, and this would be a great way to meet people and also have a place to stay.

PHILOSOPHY

When I make decisions in life, whether heavy duty or everyday ones, I think of how it will make me a better person in the end. I am interested in going forward with my life and not backwards. All the same, I still can enjoy life to the fullest!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have just created this profile, so I have not had the opportunity to participate in CouchSurfing YET. Hopefully I can enjoy the experience when I get to Europe in January. In the future I also plan on CouchSurfing with Socrates (Basos/boyfriend) and when settled down, make our own couch available to visitors.

Interests

I am interested in travel of course, hanging out with family and good people, psychology, reading, learning, cooking, exercise (when I make time for it), shopping, watching good flicks, and most of all spending good quality time with my Basos (boyfriend).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Anything. Lyrics can piss me off sometimes, but ultimately it is music and I still like it. I've been listening to country the most lately.
Movies: I enjoy comedies, drama, action, musicals, psycho thrillers... not so much into horror.
Books: For non-fiction, I like stuff in the psychology section or self-help. Malcolm Gladwell is awesome. For fiction, I like a good love story, or anything set in Paris.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in learning about other cultures and the psyche of other people. I want to be more open minded, and I think I will learn a lot about myself and my own American culture by seeing how it is in other places. That is also what I have to offer to others.
