Overview
About Me
My name is Rens,
I am 20 years old and grew up in a small city in the southern part of the Netherlands. About three years ago I moved to Almere. This is a city really close to Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, I currently study Aviation Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences. Parallel to my study I work as a document controller at an oil and gas company called Frames.
My passion is and has always been Aviation. After graduation, I will go to flight school and obtain a commercial pilot license that allows me to fly for an airline. It is a good thing I like flying because I really like to travel too :).
To conclude this essay, I am a really easy going and relaxed guy who really likes to meet new people and learn from other cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because I missed the human aspect in hotels and Airbnb. I think when you travel to a new country you should meet locals and preferably live like them. My experience with international exchanges proved this gives you the best memories. Couchsurfing is the best way to create those memories in an affordable way.

Music, Movies, and Books
I really like deep house/chill music. My favourite movie is probably "Captain Philips" or "Top Gun". I don't really read that often for pleasure (mostly engineering books...) but when I do, I prefer stories that are based on true events
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flying: Low and fast in a helicopter during the International Air Cadet Exchange, gliders, commercial jetliners during my internship.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am pretty good in finding good deals on aircraft tickets :).
What I Can Share with Hosts
A lot of happiness and "gezelligheid" (Just google translate that from dutch ;)) I can also talk about aviation forever and i am a good partner for hiking or "active" activities.
