About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living and working in Amsterdam

ABOUT ME

We (me and boyfriend) heard about couch surfing during our trip in South America and Australia in 2012. We had a good experience in Adelaide, which we thought was a real relaxed, homy way to experience a place (although in Adelaide, we spend quite a lot of time at the mechanics for reparations to our car).

We live in Amsterdam, quite near the center. Lovely place to live with lots to see and do. There is a big park just 5 minutes walk away; the Vondelpark is near enough and a couple of interesting shopping areas are just around the corner.

Rens is a psychologist working at a 'centre for autism' and Rob is working in the mental health care, and is a cultural anthropologist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mainly hosting when we've got time; unfortunately to say we got that many requests a day/week we're not able to respond to everyone. Hope you understand :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In Adelaide, Australia, was a super experience! And during our travels we only heard good stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

South America had a lot of highlights. Peru's got amazing ancient sites like Ollantaytambo and Tiwanaku in Bolivia was very interesting to say the least. Overall the natural scenery is beautiful. The trip through Laguna Paron near Caraz was extraordinary. Also one of the highlights of this trip was Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia. Australia as a whole is quite stunning; the landscape is beautiful and wide and rough, the cities nice and clean, people in general seem to be very friendly and keen on talking to you. Ever seen the 'kangaroo paw' in Westralia?
