About Me
**Currently Nomadic**
"That's the kind of death that frightens me. The shadow of death slowly, slowly eats away at the region of life, and before you know it everything's dark and you can't see and the people around you think of you as more dead than alive" Norewegian Wood, Haruki Murakami
I've always been interested in doing things my own way, and whenever I've said I plan on doing something I have done it. I am sentimental; keeping scraps of paper people have scribbled on, tickets and maps and keeping them in a box under what was once my bed in my parents' house.
Travelling is the best way to create beautiful memories with amazing people.
I'm young, I'm independent and a I'm a little bit eccentric. I want to form friendships that last beyond a stay/visit.
I used to shoot fashion photography, now I work on documentary projects - you can see my work at www.charlottebibby.com
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet amazing people I wouldn't have a chance to otherwise.
I've couch surfed in Ecuador, Europe, India, Israel and Taiwan as well as many times around Europe whilst hitchhiking and visiting.
Interests
Photography, non-fictional and fictional writing, writing, travelling (obviously!), cooking (badly), dancing (very badly), exploring, meeting people, film, philosophy, art and music.
I like to know people and to find out their stories. I love finding out other perspectives (especially ones I may not agree with if they're eloquently argued).

Travelled on my own in Ecuador aged 18 with no money and no Spanish skills.
Hitchhiked multiple times throughout Europe.
Fallen in love.
Taken a cat on a train in China.
Travelled 28 hours on the floor of a train in India.
Shared meals and conversations with many different types of people all over the world.
Wild camped in the Lake District and Durdle Door.
Lived in a Synagogue in Lithuania.
Spent an amazing six months living in Taiwan.
Visited the most dystopian looking place in Morocco.
Watched an ice hockey game in New York.
Spent an amazing New Year's eve with my best friend in Paris.
Ate pancakes for breakfast and went for a swim during Christmas in Kerala.
Held a baby lion in South Africa.
Watched birds and bats in the most beautiful cave in Thailand.
Heard the monks sing in Sri Lankan mountains.
Got drunk with Chinese tourists in an incredible part of Northern Vietnam.
Partied with locals in Zambia.
Wandered an abandoned bobsleigh track in Bosnia.
Taken two incredible road trips across America.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't feel like I can actually 'teach' much (says the ex-English teacher), but I feel like I'm good at having conversations about the environment, politics, human nature, religion, feminism and various other things I'm interested in.
I can teach some basic photography stuff, and help with English skills. And I try to leave more than I take now that I've matured (I was a selfish child/teenager).
What I Can Share with Hosts
