ABOUT ME
I have three passions: skiing, travel, and live music.
I love doing anything outdoors (hiking, camping, backpacking, biking, skiing, etc) and exploring new places and sounds that are underrated by the majority of people.
I'm a bit quiet, slightly introverted, kind of a nerd, and never bored.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I enjoy hosting surfers and know quite a bit about the Salt Lake area. I'm also fairly active in the local CS community and have met CouchSurfers from all over the world through hosting, surfing, and going to events.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Renting a house for a night in Hanmer Springs, New Zealand with a bunch of CouchSurfers while backpacking in New Zealand was one highlight - getting up early, going skiing in horrible conditions as the only 6 people on the entire mountain, building a kicker and watching everyone jump it, coming back and soaking in the Hot Springs with smuggled Vodka, and going back to the house and partying all night.
Interests
skiing, travel, live music, camping, hiking, mountain biking, scuba diving, and trying new things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I quit my job and backpacked around the South Island of New Zealand for about 6 months in 2009. While there, I skied almost all the club fields, bungy jumped, went skydiving, subjected myself to a 70km overnight mountain bike trek, hiked and camped along 50km of pristine coastline, and met hundreds of unforgettable people.
I've driven a bobsled in Utah, rode an elephant in Thailand, rode motorbikes through Thailand and Rarotonga, cycled through the hills in Utah, California, and New Zealand, scuba dived in Honduras, Belize, Mexico, and Thailand, and surfed in California.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know a lot about skiing and would gladly try to teach you, though I'm not sure how great an instructor I am. I love discovering new bands and would love to exchange music collections. I do know quite a bit about traveling in the US and in New Zealand, how to find the best deals, and some little secrets.
