About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be the one who....

ABOUT ME

I am perpetually in exploratory mode; whether traveling or other life's pursuits. A lifelong student!! Travel is essential for this. Here at home I also do a fair amount pet/house sitting. I used to teach elementary special education in an inner-city school and I coached/ran an after school program focused on soccer (football) for fourth, fifth and sixth graders at the same school.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I eagerly host any travelers. I look forward to utilizing CS project to research and facilitate my future travels and contribute to the CS community any way I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted more than I have been a guest. All of my experiences have been overwhelmingly positive.

Interests

I am passionate about teaching, traveling, books of poetry, philosophy, music, religions, politics (international especially) art, history, fiction, sociological thought, economics (especially behavioral), linguistics, and sciences. I also love, film, live music and art in various forms. Love American football, (real) futból, baseball, basketball and can enjoy extreme sports and the Olympics when they happen.
I try to really immerse myself wherever I visit (music, politics, history, food, language etc.) Culture!!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love most genres of music and have an extensive collection of music. Live music is great! Live Jazz or Malian music in person can be an amazing exchange.
Music is the best!
Like all kinds of film; preferably something meaningful. A large budget does not mean a quality/meaningful film. But some times the big budget is candy for the mind. Some favorites on the meaningful end include "Wings of Desire, Amelie, The Motorcycle Diaries, Y Tu Mama Tambien to name a few but there is so many more!!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ethiopia and I barely scratched the surface...Iceland!!!!
Chile and Argentina

Teach, Learn, Share

Be Curious, not judgmental
Life should be a journey of discovery. Carpe diem!

Children's perspectives are fascinating and relevant any where in the world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share as much of my time that is allowed with schedules. Lots of English practice.
I believe open-minds are the best and ask lots of questions regarding peoples culture and experiences.
I have been told that I am an excellent listener so I like exchanges with others.
