To start off, I have a small and friendly dog (a corgi called Xabe), so if you're allergic, you probably want to avoid me. Xabe stays off the furniture, though, and I vacuum often, so I'm generally quite clean. Also, my dog is well-behaved, so I assure you she will not be any nuisance.

I'm pretty easy-going, always looking for good people and good conversation. I try to be as accommodating as possible.

HOSTING CRITERIA

Lately I have been getting lots or requests from travelers who don’t host. Couchsurfing is great for meeting people and finding a free place to stay, but if you’re not going to pay it forward, I'm not going to do you any favors.

Therefore, you can send me a request, but if you don't meet at least two of the following criteria, I PROBABLY will not host you.

• You have a verified address.
• You have several positive references and no (or proportionally very few) negative references.
• You have at least one (just one!) hosting reference.
• You are from Nebraska or Iowa (my old stomping grounds).
• You are from a different country, especially French-speaking (because that’s just interesting).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have also been to several couchsurfing meetups, getting to know the local CS community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted many couchsurfers now, and they've been nothing but great. I'm pleased to find there are different types of people all over the US that have all turned out to be very courteous and interesting.

I've stayed on several couches myself, and they all provided different experiences, all of them positive. It's a lot of fun and I would definitely love to meet you. I'll sometimes travel somewhere for a conference or convention, but I'll end up having way more fun with my host.

Moving to Olympia has been an intense experience for me, and I’ve seen and done some amazing things since I left “home”: traveled around Iceland, summited mountains, hiked through ancient forests, dug for clams in the surf, and so much more. I’d love to share the experience with you.
