Overview
About Me
Hey there! I'm Reynald—yep, just Reynald, even on my passport! 📚 I'm a total bookworm and love diving into new stories and ideas. In real life, I'm pretty talkative and super easygoing. I enjoy chill hangs, walking around parks, exploring museums, and having all kinds of interesting discussions. Just don't expect me to enjoy heated debates—I'd much rather keep things fun and light 🌟
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Starting this September, I'm diving into a Master of Science in Transition Innovation Sustainable Environment 🌍 (try saying that five times fast!) across four amazing countries: Portugal, Ireland, Poland, and Austria. Since I'll be hopping between places, I stumbled upon this awesome app and thought, "Why not make some new friends along the way?" Making friends as an adult can be tough without a bit of help, so I'm here to connect, share stories, and have a blast!

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music, I'm a bit of a weirdo (in the best way, of course)! I love Enya and tons of movie soundtracks—think epic scores and emotional orchestral pieces rather than Coachella headliners 🎶
Movies? I'm all about book adaptations because I love seeing my favorite stories come to life on screen. Plus, who doesn't love a good movie night?
As for books... asking a booklover to choose a favorite is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child! 📚 My TBR (to-be-read) list is over 200 books long, and last year I read 75+. If I had to pick, I'd say my favorite genres are horror/thrillers and memoirs. Thrillers are my version of bungee jumping—pure adrenaline! My top thriller from last year was "The Danger of Smoking in Bed." When it comes to memoirs, I adore learning from others' experiences. Last year's faves were "Burned Alive" by Souad and "Love Warrior" by Glennon Doyle.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most incredible experiences I've had is working as a community coordinator for the Climate Emergency Software Alliance. This job has taken me to some of the most remote areas in Indonesia and even around the world. I've had the privilege of meeting indigenous communities, witnessing firsthand the impacts of climate and environmental disasters, and truly connecting with people by talking, staying, and learning from them. 🌏
How many people get to travel to more than 10 provinces in a month, hopping from truck to truck, taking small planes, and meeting sacred tribes? Not many, I bet! One of my most cherished memories is being gifted a beautiful handmade necklace by a tribe—a true honor. This job has given me unique experiences and unforgettable stories to share.
Teach, Learn, Share
With Couchsurfing, it's all about mutual exchange and friendship. If you're ever in Indonesia, especially in Bali or Jakarta, I can share tons of local tips, hidden gems, and cultural insights with you. In return, I'd love to learn from you—whether it's tips and tricks for navigating Portugal, Ireland, Poland, and Austria (my destinations for the upcoming year) or any other cool knowledge you have.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can definitely share some incredible experiences and stories from my travels and work. But more importantly, I can offer genuine friendship. In this day and age, making close and meaningful connections can be tough, but I'm all about being open and real. If we hit it off, you might even end up with some cute goodies from my adventures! 😊
