ABOUT ME

Currently in the last semester of my teacher preparation program, I am looking to travel the world before beginning my career as a Spanish teacher. My girlfriend Alice, an aspiring teacher as well, will be joining me on this journey. Together, we hope to meet new people in new places and learn everything we can about all cultures in our hopes of becoming citizens of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

This is something that we could talk about for HOURS and typing something up would never come close to doing it justice. We live to learn, and we learn to live. I am a firm believer that being "alive" is so much more than simply breathing; in order to be alive you have to experience life and one way to do that is to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan on couchsurfing during my trip through Peru and Bolivia. I would be staying in different cities from 2-4 weeks at a time, but I would only need a couch for the first few days in each city. Above all, I would love to start my stay in each city by staying with a host for the exchange of cultural knowledge. I expect for my perspective on so many different topics to be challenged and changed through my couchsurfing experience. I also hope to provide my hosts with new knowledge and new perspectives on a variety of topics.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This is our first couchsurfing experience, and we look forward to making it a memorable one.

Interests

We both love to travel, learn and teach. Specifically, I am intrigued by languages and how they work. Alice is in love with the study of people and how our interactions shape the world around us. If I'm not outside kicking a football around, I'm inside trying to keep up with Alice as she flies through whatever book she might be reading.

Music, Movies, and Books

As cliche as this may sound, we enjoy all sorts of movies, music and books. We prefer comedies, dramas, documentaries and movies based on true stories (especially sports stories!). Music wise we enjoy anything from Kaskade to Bon Iver to Mexican corridos and tribal. Books, as long as its a book it will be read!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Alice has had the wonderful experience of living in Turkey, and while there she was fortunate enough to visit a number of different sites. She did everything from watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon in Cappadocia to watching the sunset on a beach in Greece.

Teach, Learn, Share

This is the beginning of our journey, at this time the only knowledge that we have (other than academic knowledge acquired at our university) is knowledge about ourselves. What I mean by this is that we know exactly who we are, and one thing we can do is share how we accomplished this. Hopefully, we can help all the people we encounter find out a little more about themselves, and at the same, may we learn a little more about ourselves through our exchanges.
