About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be in the moment, stay young and help others
ABOUT ME
I enjoy expedition cycling, traveling and exploring the world. Over the last six years I have made that happen and have done over 36,000 miles across Europe and North America. I also have run about twenty marathons in north america and europe and now would like to try some longer trail distances. Adventure traveling is my game and my ambition is to enjoy every minute of those moments on the road with wonderful and social like minded people. So far I have been very fortunate in making my objectives a reality!
PHILOSOPHY
There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.
Jawaharlal Nehru
What lies before us and what lies behind us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? And, if I am for myself alone, then what am I? And, if not now, when?" Hillel
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am married and we are empty nesters. We like to go out, host friends and family, and hope that one day you knock on our door. We have a simple cozy place to hang your hat, all the amenities you need and a positive spirit, so come on down!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experiences with host families in europe and north america have without exception all been fabulous and unique and definitely has extended my circle of friends and family for life.
Interests
My interests are numerous including biking, running, writing, traveling, taking pictures, people, different cultures and above all enjoying life. I also like micro brews, sushi, thai, a good old fashion barbecued burger or chicken and wholesome american food.
Unfortunately I never picked up the art of cooking but am willing to learn and roll up my sleeves. I help out with whatever and whenever I can including but not limited to the prep and/or clean up.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy reading and watching movies and documentaries on explorers, historic events, the natural wonders of the world and the world at large. Some of my favorite reads are: Born to run (running), metal cowboy (cycling), and a walk though the woods. (hiking the appalachian trail)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran (relay running) around the world on foot in ninety five days across 16 countries with twenty international runners in support of the blue planet foundation, an ngo with a mission to create awareness and raise funds to safe 200 million lives by 2020 in countries where 6,000 people die daily due to sanitation problems and the lack of access of safe drinking water.
The run was an amazing experience across america, europe, russian siberia, the mongolia gobi dessert, china and japan.
Teach, Learn, Share
I support the blue planet network, an NGO in support of global safe drinking water projects. as such I combine my somewhat athletic ability with in my mind epic events, leaving hopefully a footprint for a better world. More info about this on my blogs and my fb fan page Blue Planet Ride and on the official website at: http://blueplanetnetwork.org
