About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Right now, I'm trying to take advantage of my time in Europe -- i have a lot to explore and a lot of new friends to make!!

ABOUT ME

I'm an adventurous kid with a warm heart who loves to explore and make new friends. I love to party :). I grew up in Hali, Canada, tiny little capital city on the Atlantic ocean (highest tides in the world!); after 17 years, great though they were, I was ready for a change -- I moved to Toronto in 2007, and have been attending the University of Toronto since. I started out in cognitive neuroscience (bleh), moved into English lit, and have finally settled on philosophy and psychology. Now I'm in my 3rd year, doing an exchange in Lyon, France, and LOVING it.

PHILOSOPHY

We are all more fundamentally connected in this world than possible to imagine -- so very little separates me from you, as different as we are... So let's explore the differences, and rejoice over the similarities! I think we'll find an abundance of each.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard about CouchSurfing when I moved to Lyon with my best friend. Our first host, Van (amazing!) introduced us to the couchsurfing community in Lyon -- all wonderful people. Monday nights, we get together at a pub in Vieux Lyon (though I must admit my pretty regular absence), and soirées are common among the couchsurfers. Once I get a couch in my apartment (still furnishing..) I can't wait to host people in Lyon -- until then, drop by pour un verre and a tour!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only couchsurfed once before, when I first moved to Lyon -- it was an exceptional experience; my host was gracious, took me out to soirées to meet his friends and other couchsurfers, and showed me and my bestie around the city. It was an encouraging experience -- I'll be doing it again all over Europe!

Interests

Big on philosophy and psychology -- can't think and learn enough about it. I plan to pursue a degree that combines my love for the two, and hopefully, my love for...

Humanitarian work. My bread and butter -- I love helping others. I'm an organizer at heart (though my friends wouldn't believe it haha), and love putting together fundraisers and drives. Try it, there's nothing more satisfying or gratifying!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Pick one, huh? Rough.. I think the most rewarding was starting a charity in Halifax.. All pretense aside, it's an incredible feeling to be able to see your hard work AT work-- My friend and I began an annual eventto raise money for kids with diabetes who can't afford insulin pumps; still going strong :).
