About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see as much of this world as we can and make friends all over the world.
ABOUT ME
I grew up on a dairy farm and after graduating from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse I taught for 33 years in Holmen Wisconsin. I retired from teaching and coaching but still work part time teaching driver education. I have really enjoyed traveling to the Philippines and doing volunteer work. Meeting and working with the Filipino people has been my highlight since retiring from full time work. We have two grandchildren. Renee grew up on a farm in Iowa and works as an administrative assistant at Viterbo University. Renee enjoys singing in many choirs and also playing hand bells. Renee is also learning German. Renee and I love to travel and think that couch surfing is a great idea.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We think it's a great way to meet new people and to learn about the area first hand from locals. We both enjoy helping other people and Couchsurfing is a good way to do that. Couchsurfing will make it easier and affordable for many of us to do more traveling. You can never travel to much :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The best thing I have accomplished lately is helping to construct a library in the Philippines on an island where there were no other libraries. I also helped donate school supplies and helped in the schools. The most amazing part of the volunteer work is to see the smiles and laughter of the children and meeting so many nice and very appreciative people in the Philippines. Renee did volunteer work in Bolivia and help to build a green house for the people to be able to grow crops for a longer period of time.
