About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoy my new life with Philip, my sons, and my dog
ABOUT ME
I am Ecuadorian-American and I grew up in the US, particularly the Southeast. I lived in Quito for 5 years for educational purposes and general life change. When I returned to the States, I was an Americorps volunteer, living in Manhattan and working in the South Bronx. Afterwards, I completed my pediatric residency in Cleveland. While in training, I met my husband, Philip, at the Columbus Couchcrash. It was love "at first sexy dancing at a body positive party with the only other clothed person on the dance floor" sight. Nine months after the wedding, we had our son.
Anyways, I used to have hobbies, such as figureskating, violin, and dance. Maybe when my boys are going to school and don’t think I need to be by their side every moment, especially while I'm updating this, I can pick up those hobbies again. My adorable kids, include my human sons and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
I like decompressing by watching movies and TV shows.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't have to be the best, but I have to be good.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have been a couchsurfing hiatus for several years. You know, medical residency, non CSer roommates, pregnancy, parenthood and whatnot. Now we have our own home with an extra bedroom, and we would like to start again.
We particularly are looking to host other families with children and people, who may not be typically accepted, such as older travelers or travelers of color.
We have great friendships with some of the original CSers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed all over Europe and every experience was amazing. I've hosted in Ecuador several people from the States and Europe.

Last movies I watched in the theater: The Big Sick, Wonderwoman
Last meal I ate from a restaurant: Small Cheval burger and fries (in the theatre)
Last musical I've seen: Hamilton

Last soundtracks I've heard not by choice: but still enjoyed: Moana, Hamilton, Coloring Book by Chance
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A few things here and there. Most recently, I would say our engagement trip (I didn't know it was an engagement trip). Philip and I went to Israel and Egypt in March 2013 as sort of a Christian pilgrimage. Philip proposed to me at the Church of the Nativity, steps away from the birthplace of Jesus.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can... what can I teach? Nowadays, pediatrics.
I want to practice languages. I am so rough on my French. I used to be a good writer and reader but always felt deficient in speaking. I was not confident enough, so I almost never spoke, so I almost never practiced, so I didn't improve, so I kept feeding the vicious cycle.
I love to learn about other cultures. If you were the foreign exchange student in our class, I used to be the kid who introduces herself
