About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Eating my way around the world
ABOUT ME
I am a fun-loving easy-going chef from Minneapolis. I have been cooking professionally for 12 years but there is so much about the world of food to explore! I am most interested in travel to check out cuisines that are new to me. I love going to local markets, restaurants, and people's homes to get a good idea of how people around the world relate to each other through food experiences.
PHILOSOPHY
we are all made out of one and one thing only, which is the same everywhere. the universe is our relations to each other.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I started couchsurfing with my brother Chris, I have made a rule to always do something special for my host/guest. cooking food for them is always a must! I also make a point to attend any couchsurfing meetings near the area as they are always a blast.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only have top-notch couchsurfing experiences so far. couchsurfing for me has made up about half the fun of traveling, and when I think of a place I have been in my travels, I immediately remember a name or a face of a couchsurfing friend I have made there. I have never hosted.
Interests
I love cooking and gardening and I'm a member of wwoof. I like drinking coffee and tea and beer and discovering beverages that are new to me. I like exploring off the beaten path, drawing and painting and collaging, eating food from street vendors, learning dirty phrases in foreign languages, finding secret places in nature that nobody would notice. I love animals and little kids and my wife and I have twin boy and girl and our own chickens at home.

Music, Movies, and Books
"look in the fridge and you will see nothing. look at the t.v. and you will see everything". there is nothing like a live show. lately i listen to some Harvey Milk. i love cheesy fantasy novels about space adventures in the future, choose-your-own-adventure books, toms robinson and wolfe, and cookbooks are like pornos when youre hungry
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took a train up finland to the arctic circle just so I could see some snow - call me crazy, I love snow, and it was an unusually warm december - and when getting off I hit the ground running to go plop into a large snow bank I had spotted. When I got there, it was a mound of ice! Then, amazing thing, the whole town was in the shape of a reindeer's head. I had stumbled upon santa's workshop but didn't find any snow there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to share what I know about food and cooking and gardening. I know a bit about butchering and how to get your knives real sharp. I have had experience teaching English.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook you a meal in your own home! I always make sure to clean up, too :)
