Overview
About Me
I'm a Wildlife Biologist by trade and National Geographic Explorer. I just wrapped up a job and I'm taking some time off before pursuing new opportunities. Myself and my dog Findlay are headed to the Island from August 10th - August 31st and we hope to meet cool new people and friends!
In my spare time I like to walk my dog (Findlay), paddleboard, ride horses, be a nerd about all things wildlife, geography, politics etc and I quite like craft beer.
I'm pretty laid back and looking to see what's out there and meet new people. Findlay and I both absolutely adore dogs! So if you have a dog I will happily hang out with them, go on walks etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been couchsurfing before and it has brought me many great friends and experiences across North America! I love getting to know new people and check out places you wouldn't find in a tourist brochure!
I find that I like the slower pace of couchsurfing compared to busy, loud backpackers etc!
I look forward to seeing more of the world and getting the local viewpoint on the places I visit!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - I will listen to most things, or at least give it a try. Not the biggest fan of house/techno though. Lover of most things that contain guitar, especially country.
Movies - pretty varied really. I don't watch movies super often right now but I love action, fantasy, crime, magical stuff, romance and some comedy (think wolf of wall Street/3 billboards). Pretty open to new things but may fall asleep if I get bored.
I love Nicholas Evans books. Hopefully I will have more time to read when I graduate.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helped to collar a grizzly bear.
Feed a gorilla at the Seattle Zoo (thanks to some amazing couchsurfing hosts).
Booked a flight to NZ two weeks before with no plan for what to do when I got there.
Become a National Geographic Explorer!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn about anything new so anything hosts have to share with me I would love to know about. I particularly love wildlife/nature based knowledge.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A passion for wildlife and conservation. I can teach you about lots of different aspects of conservation from the places I've been to.
Music, laughter and good company. I'm very laid back and I love to sing with people if someone has a guitar or just have a chat and relax.
