About Me

I'm an artist from Scotland currently living in New Zealand.

I like art, reading, swimming, kayaking, second hand shops, and listening to great music while sipping a whisky (or whatever the local drink is).

I'm vegetarian but I'm not a fussy eater and love trying new food.

I can't currently accept guests as I live in a share house and am planning my own travels early next year, but will update this as I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy travelling and like the idea of staying with locals who can let me in on the well-kept secrets of their hometowns. It'd also be nice to meet people I might see again in Scotland (or wherever I'm living at the time) where I can return the favour.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like a mix of folk and soul among other things.
Movies: Wes Anderson, Hitchcock, Some Like it Hot, the Goonies, and pretty much anything with Nicolas Cage.
Books: Victorian classics, sci-fi and murder mysteries.
TV: Gilmore Girls, 30 Rock, Community, X Files, Orphan...I watch a lot of TV so I'm just going to leave it there. You get the idea - good comedy, cheesy sci-fi and shows with a "strong female lead."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't need to impress anyone.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm, what can I teach you?
A few printmaking techniques if you have the space and the materials.
I'm pretty good at knitting - mostly hats.
If you want to practice English I'm very happy to help you practice or proofread things for you.

I would really love to learn Spanish and maybe some Japanese but I haven't got very far at all yet!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A dry wit and a calming presence.
Also snacks.

Countries I’ve Visited

Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain
