Figuring out what to do with my life. Turns out I can no longer postpone that.

ABOUT ME

I am a kind, nerdy, introverted person. I consider empathy and curiosity as important values to cultivate in life. I have wide range of interests and an unsettled mind and can be very indecisive. Though I am shy, I enjoy meeting like minded people and deep conversations with anyone. I love animals, and spending time in nature.

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Rochester, NY in the Brain and Cognitive Sciences department. I have a fascination for all things science, but I am kind of obsessed with the the field of complex systems. I enjoy sharing and learning about what other people are interested or passionate about.

I enjoy art, and think science should also be seen as an art. I try to cultivate artistic hobbies, and am currently learning knitting.

PHILOSOPHY

I think the world is a bit too messed up, and unnecessarily complicated.
I have not formed a solid personal philosophy, and am dealing with a lot of inner contradictions.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am relatively new here. Have offered my room once. But honestly couchsurfing is one of the most brilliant ideas ever, and I am all up for sharing.

Have hosted once but yet to be the guest.

兴趣

Trekking, nature, cycling, football, computer, games. Complex systems and chaos. Degrowth and sustainability. Trying to cultivate reading. And pretty terrible at drawing/painting.

音乐、电影和书籍

Plenty of movies. Very few Indian movies though like - Queen, Highway, English Vinglish, The Lunchbox. The list of hollywood movies are a long one, but a couple of movies that stood out - Into the Wild, and Instinct.

As for books, I am not yet an avid reader (I say with self-reproach). Here are a few fantastic books.
Calvin and Hobbes - Bill Watterson, The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Ishmael - Daniel Quinn, The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Diary of a young Girl - Anne Frank, Animal Farm - George Orwell.

Music. My music tastes are all over the place right now. I predominantly listen to rock, but I am learning to enjoy jazz too.

Cycling 150 kms non stop in eight and a half hours.
Attempting the Annapurna circuit with a bike.

My ability to sleep in the most awkward positions in any treacherous or life threatening scenario.
