About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Just hang on tight and enjoy the ride

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty happy go lucky girl who loves to laugh. I try to find the humor in everything, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but I like to think I'm more than moderately successful at it.

I grew up in West Covina, CA and lived there in the same house until I was 17. I took a leap, packed up my life and moved out to Colorado for college. I've spent nearly 4 and a half of the best years of my life in the wonderful town of Fort Collins and I truly have built a life here with some of the best friends I could ever ask for. Moving to Colorado had always been a dream of mine and it proved to me that no matter how seemingly impossible, nothing is out of reach, it's just up to you to make it happen. I did a study abroad that really did change my outlook on life and now have officially been infected by the travel bug. This world is a fascinating and wonderful place and I intend to see it all.

I just graduated with my undergraduate degree in Zoology with a minor in English from Colorado State University in December 09. I have no idea what the next five years of my life are going to hold and, honestly, I'm ok with that. My bucket list has over 90 things on it ranging from swimming with dolphins, my dream road trip ending in Alaska and dogsledding, to catching a trout with my bare hands and I'm determined to check them off one by one.

Life is a pretty wild ride and I wouldn't have it any other way. I wouldn't be where I am if it weren't for my family and my friends and it's such a wonderful thing to know I always have them go come back to after life takes me whereever it is I need to go.

PHILOSOPHY

I live for the little blips of time that we are blessed with. Those all too few moments when you connect with another human being, no matter how long you've known one another or how alike or different you are. It doesn't have to be a long conversation, sometimes only a couple of minutes but there's nothing like the moment when someone lets you in. I love just talking to people and hearing their stories, the more random and outrageous the better. It really is the little things in life that make it worth living and we don't stop and appreciate them near enough. Before we know it, they've passed us by but man, are we left with some great stories and even better memories :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went skydiving in Taupo, New Zealand back in 07. It was a cloudy day and we were waiting for a break in the clouds to jump.

I remember sitting there alternating between a blank empty disbelief that I was sitting in a small, pink hopper of a plane and and a terrified petrification. The solo jumpers went first and then I was the first of the five tandems. I kept asking Dave, the guy I was hooked up to, when we were going to be attached. His response, "When we get to 8000 feet, just remind me so I don't forget" Funny guy, picking on me in my moment of terror but, then again, I couldn't help but laugh.

Legs dangling out the side of the plane I remember yelling "I can't do this!" He told me yes I could and was I ready. I screamed "Ok let's go". We did a front flip out of the plane and straight into a cloud. I could barely breath and we were in free fall, ice pelting us. It was such a sensory overload it didn't even hurt at all. Suddenly, we burst through the cloud and there was lake Taupo, so huge I thought it was the ocean. Truly a magnificent sight.

The moment the chute opened was the most peaceful experience I've ever had in my life. We drifted down and he asks me if I want to spin...now, I don't spin well, I can't even go on spinny rides but I hear myself yell "Hell ya" and we spin to the right and spin to the left. We drifted down and kicked out legs up, gently sliding to land gently on the grass. Truly the most amazing thing I've ever done in my life
