About Me

I'm an adventurer. I like to learn new things, meet new people, and experience different cultures. I really like sports, games, music, and film, and spending as much time outside as possible (e.g., hiking, swimming, cycling, walking, etc.). I also enjoy trying new food.

I also like learning about different languages, and at happy to help people who want to improve their English :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to meet new people, to experience different cultures, and to get more of a local experience when I travel. I think that cultural exchange is one of the most important ways to break down cultural barriers and combat negative global trends... and I love to help share Western Canada with anyone who would like to experience it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During the summer of 2018, two German friends and I drove from Stuttgart, Germany, to Igoumenitsa, Greece and back. This three-week road trip took us through over 4000 Kilometres of travel (including a 16 hour ferry ride from Greece to Italy), through eleven countries, and through the homes and/or campgrounds of a number of incredible humans. The focus of the trip was top visit the Balkan countries. We spent three to five days in several of them, including Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, and Greece, staying almost entirely with locals (through Air B&Bs or similar hosting resources), or in locally run campgrounds. The scenery was stunning, the food was delicious, and I got to learn a little bit about some of the many different histories, peoples, and cultures of those regions. I also was lucky enough to meet some of the kindest and most interesting people that I can imagine.

I would highly recommend a trip through this region to anyone given the opportunity, and would love to return myself in the future.
