About Me

I'm an aussie, but not the crocodile dundee kind. I come from the island down south that is so often forgotten, Tasmania. As of yet, I am certainly not well travelled. People from Tasmania tend to stay their whole lives here! But not me. I had always wanted to travel, but assumed i would do it later in life. Then one cold morning, i decided to stop planning too far ahead and made the decision to head out into the world to meet beautiful people and see some beautiful places; starting with Canada.
I have begun my study at university, i'm an intelligent, slightly dorky, slightly nerdy, incredibly curious person. I love reading, i love learning, i love meeting interesting and often crazy people with outrageous stories to tell! And hope that by the end of my travels I'll have some great stories of my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first, i got CS thinking it was just a tool to use. But lo and behold there is a whole great community here to meet and get to know! I'm looking to use CS to meet lovely new hosts and learn as much as my curious mind can hold about this strange new country i find myself in, Canada.

Interests

First and foremost, learning. Anything. My range of interests is broad, though rarely do i spend significant amounts of time on any 1 thing. Evidentally, i also enjoy reading and perusing the internet to discover all sorts of new and exciting things. I have a passion for most sciencies. Particularly medical science. I love late night drunken deep discussion, i love meeting new people and i am keen to just head out and see as much as i can of the world. I enjoy board games, i am very interested in aussie rules football (i make no promises on adequately explaining the rules), and i have certainly played my fair share of video games.

Music, Movies, and Books

My musical interest depends on the day really. Green Day and Linken Park are bands i find myself coming back to often. I also enjoy Audioslave, Adele, and Muse. More recently, I've been enjoying big epic instrumental stuff. As for TV, ill watch pretty much any of the popular series. Recently i have been watching Vikings and Weeds. Finally, books. I love anything with big fantastical adventures. Big fan of Harry Potter, and due to my dream of having a dragon as a best friend i also love the Eragon series. Recently ive been reading many of the free classics on Kindle and i particularly liked Frankenstein.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Made the decision to leave my comfy Tasmania and travel!! Aside from that, i spent 2 weeks in Canberra (Australian Capital) listenning to many prominent scientists speak about their amazing work. I even got to skype with a physicist working in Geneva with the Large Hadron Collider!

What I Can Share with Hosts

What i have to share is whatever my curious mind decides to conjure up on the day. I can share what i have learnt at university, i can share what it means to live life as an Australian, i can teach you how to make sushi very fast if you're interested as i manage a sushi place!
