About Me

I study architecture and construction management in Melbourne. I really enjoy travelling, and the more I do it, and the more people I meet and places I see, my desire to travel only increases. I have spent time studying in Sweden in 2011 and in London in 2013. Both times I spent some time travelling around Europe once I finished my studies.

I spent 10 months in South America from Nov 14-Aug15, and I worked for 6 months in Cusco/Sacred Valley in Peru. I spent the other 4 months travelling around other countries in South America.

I think architecture is very interesting because the disipline involves a lot of different aspects. Firstly it is all about the people who inhabit the spaces and their needs. Every building, sidewalk, train line and public space has in some capacity been thought about and planned. So for me it is always interesting to see how different cities have developed. Architecture is also about physics and engineering as much as it is about history and art and everything that came before. I like seeing interesting buildings and structure when I visit a new city.

For all these reasons I love to experience a new culture, country or society and gain an understanding of how their they have developed. I think the best way to understand a new culture and city is to meet the people who live there, that's the main reason I participate in couch surfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet locals, to get a greater cultural experience but most of all to make some friends who can visit me in Melbourne. I have not had my own place to host other couch surfers yet but I hope when I return to Melbourne I will be able to have a place for other couch surfers to stay!

Music, Movies, and Books

I couldn't define my favourite type of music in one genre, and I feel like today we have so many new genres and cross genres that I sometimes don't even know how to define what I'm listening to. If I had to try I would say I usually listen to something alternative rock/pop, indie, electronic with synthesizers, but I also enjoy some rock and acoustic music.

I do not read as much as I'd like too, I usualIy read when I travel. Some of my favourite books I have read are the millenium trilogy (girl with the dragon tattoo etc), call me by your name and holding the man.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say my favourite trip has been 10 days in Iceland. It was during the middle of winter so some places were not accessible, so I would love to go back in summer. I wenr hiking on a glacier and caving inside the glacier which was amazing. Such a interesting country, Rejkavik is such a nice city, and hiring a car and driving around the south was great experience. People were super friendly, the nature was incredible, and it was spent with good company.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in film photography. I mainly use my camera when I travel and have a blog where I post some of my photos. Check it out if you are interested.

I am by no means an expert buts it's something I enjoy and would love to explore your city with you, and share what I know and love about photography.

I have mastered the basics of Spanish during my time in South America, i have a lot to learn but I would absolutely love to practice my Spanish with anyone from a Spanish speaking country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Someone to exchange stories with over a drink, maybe even chuck on my chef hat and cook a meal. I'd like to think I'm reasonably interesting and can hold a conversation about numerous topics!
