Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

To pursue goals mindfully, enthusiastically, yet hold on to them lightly

ABOUT ME

My interests and pursuits are many, and these weave themselves in and out of some common themes: health and wellness, adventure, creative and mindful living, hard work, and local community. I'm a travel bug by nature and I thrive on diversity. I'm equally comfortable walking the introspective paths of some lonely wilderness and treading the din and tumult of some big city street.

I've spent the better part of my twenties living and working with organic farms, intentional communities, an small businesses in the Western U.S., Mexico, Central America, and Hawaii, mostly though organicvolunteers.org, and wwoof.org (both wonderful resources for those who are interested). I continue to develop and apply these experiences toward my general long term goal, which is to settle on semi-rural property in Cascadia, and develop it into a functioning farmstead coupled with a microbrewery.

My partner and I currently live and work on a permaculture farm/cabin rental business in the small town of Orleans, California, centered in the remote landscape of the Mid-Klamath Basin.

Música, películas y libros

Some of the authors on my shelf: Michael Pollan, Thomas J. Elpel, Michael Moore, Masanobo Fukuoka, Tom Brown Jr, Michio Kaku, Jean Auel, Tom Robbins, Orson Scott Card, Bill Mollison, Starhawk, Stephen Harrod Buhner, Myamoto Musashi, Mark Hatmaker, Betty Edwards, Charlie Papazian, reference and how-to books of all types, anything with margins big enough to write in.

Algo increíble que he hecho

I been in a sweat lodge next to a javelina.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I'm an accomplished student of many things, but will never call myself an expert of anything. Some skills I have to share with my fellow students include: brewing beer from grain, making friction fire, tuning and repairing bicycles, self-defense, capturing and propagating wild yeast, triangulating with map and compass, improving one's writing, fermenting vegetables, abseiling/rappelling, playing the didgeridoo, creating mnemonics.

Some things I want learn: all of the aforementioned, timber frame construction, welding, sign language, distillation, Qigong, German, drafting blueprints, beekeeping.
