I have always enjoyed exploring and traveling and have used my teacher holiday time well over the last 6 years. During this time, I have done 3 cross-country road trips across the Western, Southern and Eastern Coast of South Africa. I have road tripped through Mozambique. I have road tripped (on a scooter) from the South of Vietnam to the North of Vietnam. I have also travelled through the Philippines and frequented Hong Kong.

I am very passionate about traveling, not only because of the beautiful sites and fun activities but rather because I have met some of the best people in my life traveling. Furthermore, I believe that traveling expands the diversity of one's mind and allows for empathy to grow. However, I could never put it as eloquently has Mark Twain: “Broad, wholesome charitable views of men an things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all of one’s lifetime”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my travels, the majority of my accommodation has been in backpackers or homes of friends.

While I have tried to learn and become part of the community whilst in these foreign places, I feel that I am still missing a beat. I therefore want to become part of the couch surfing community so that I can truly be part of the living community in the places I travel to.

To add to this, I really want to be able to be reciprocal and that is why I am offering up my tiny living room as a place to stay as well. It's not much but it is what I can offer for now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - More recently ALT J, Milky chance, Future islands. Also, love Kings of Leon.
Movies - Absolutely love movies. Hard to pick a top 5, but here are a few: American Beauty, Pulp Fiction, Into the wild, Shawshank, Silence of the lambs.
Books - I enjoy survival stories such as unbroken, But have recently started to enjoy my Science Fiction more (Like Dune).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer I did the Camino Santiago Francais. Which is a 800 km starting in the south of France ending in the west of Spain. It involved all of walking, socializing and soul gazing. A great experience that I would recommend to anyone.
