About Me

Hello! My first name is Riane, but I actually go by my middle name Justine. I am an Environmental Science graduate from the University of Washington interested in sustainable agriculture and restoration ecology. I am also a vintage clothing enthusiast who loves costuming and any excuse to dress up. I want to explore as many places as possible before I get too settled in life. It is important to experience different perspectives of the world to be a more compassionate person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great alternative to the normal methods of visiting a city. I love to meet new people this way and see towns from the perspectives of the people who live there. I am also a big supporter of gift economies and trade based communities and this fits in with those philosophies very well.

My first experience hosting was an eyeopener. I learned much more than I anticipated and I would love to continue hosting!

If you come stay with with us I want you to feel cozy. You are welcome to our tea and coffee, and whatever else we might have on hand. Our couch sleeps even the tallest and we always have one extra sleeping bag, blankets, and towels if you need them.

I think it would be very fun to plan a group dinner together one night if you are interested, just let me know! Otherwise I know some great restaurants to recommend. You are also welcome to cook for yourself here if you plan ahead with me.

If you are traveling alone I am happy to be your companion in the city if you need someone to explore with.
