About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make friends, know different cultures, enjoy life

ABOUT ME

Hi, my name is Ricardo Knoblauch. Although the german surname, I am 100% Brazilian from the south (Santa Catarina State). Professionally, I am a researcher and professor in engineering (I'm not an usual boring engineer, I can guarantee it).
I am funny and very talkative. I like to chat about many things, such as life, society, relationships, philosophy, or whatever comes to the mind.
As a guest, I am very respectful, easygoing and helpful. I tend to wake up happy, fact that I consider to be a plus for anyone hosting me.
I also like cycling, skateboarding, climbing, and trying new foods and drinks.
Due to the time I’ve spent living abroad, I am very aware about the difficulties of being a foreigner. And that’s why I also consider myself particularly sympathetic to people from other cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

Indie, folk, rock, metal, bossa nova, classic and pop. (pretty much, right?)
Movies: Everything!
Books: Science Fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed a cliff that is surrounded by the sea here in Florianópolis. That was incredibly amazing. It took about 5 hours to complete the task, me and my team climbed more than 100m using climbing equipment.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Experiences, jokes, ideas, more jokes, and good theories. I always have a theory for something. Sometimes it makes some sense. Some times not.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Switzerland
