About Me

“It is better to have your head in the clouds, and know where you are... than to breathe the clearer atmosphere below them, and think that you are in paradise.” (Henry David Thoreau)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A famous Italian journalist (Tiziano Terzani), who travelled all around the world, once said:
" Tourism is one of the worst invention our world have ever experienced. Because of tourism, the world is now a Disneyworld without borders".

I agree with him that today we have lost a bit the "meaning" of travelling. The question should not be WHERE we travel but HOW and WHY we travel. In this way, Couchsurfing helps the world to keep culture strong and alive, strengthening the values of a journey.

Interests

I am curious easy-going guy, always keen on meet people and learn something new. I love backpacking and challenging myself with the long distance walks. I try to travel in a sustainable way taking my time, sharing my journey with locals. Beside hiking, I maintain both my body and mind healthy with brazilian jiu jitsu and zen meditation.

After a working experience in UK, two years ago I moved to The Netherlands to pursue a Master degree in Food Tech. Here I got inspired in finding solutions to deal with the increasing demand of food our planet is facing. That's why I have kept myself busy in the labs trying to understand how to use edible insects to solve malnutrition.
