About Me

I'm an international student studying computer science in Utah. I was born and raised in a small town in Italy and just 3 years ago I decided to move the US and live my life as a long-term nomad.

I'm an open-minded person. My blood is filled with passion and curiosity. I like to discover how people live their life, what are their interests and passions. I like to work to connect and to spark the energy that is in each of us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, and hearing about their stories. For me meeting people is important, either through traveling or hosting, because it expands my horizons and perspectives.

Sharing is a fundamental pillar of my life-style. To give away your piece of bread to someone who is more in need than you are is not a behavior that comes instinctively to many people. But I strive to make that my nature.

Interests

Other than absorbing knowledge I also like to DO something with it:

/music/ - I started playing the bass guitar since I was 12 and I never stopped learning about music after that. I'm currently focusing on piano and I'm trying to figure out what's behind a jazz improvisation. I produce electronic music in my dead time.
I listen to a very large selection of genres. I like what is labeled as indie rock. (Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, The Strokes, Kasabian, Arcade Fire, The Shins... it never ends). But I also like deep house and uk future garage (Nicholas Jaar, Disclosure, Frankie Knuckles, Nina Kraviz, Gesaffelstein, Hot Natured...). Classical music can also entertain me sometimes, depending on the mood (Debussy, Chopaine, Mozart, Einaudi).

/computer/- I like to build sexy fast web applications with the most recent and undocumented technologies. I spend my coding time creating side projects that help other programmers being more productive and more aware of their time management.

/philosophy/- “Begin each day by telling yourself: Today I shall be meeting with interference, ingratitude, insolence, disloyalty, ill-will, and selfishness – all of them due to the offenders’ ignorance of what is good or evil. But for my part I have long perceived the nature of good and its nobility, the nature of evil and its meanness, and also the nature of the culprit himself, who is my brother (not in the physical sense, but as a fellow creature similarly endowed with reason and a share of the divine); therefore none of those things can injure me, for nobody can implicate me in what is degrading. Neither can I be angry with my brother or fall foul of him; for he and I were born to work together, like a man’s two hands, feet or eyelids, or the upper and lower rows of his teeth. To obstruct each other is against Nature’s law – and what is irritation or aversion but a form of obstruction.” - Marcus Aurelius.
Philosophy has been a part of my life since the beginning of high school. I see it as a relief after busy days working and studying logical things. I'm interested in roman and greek philosophers. The ones who had only their senses and their reason to explain what was around them.
