Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Encourage everyone I encounter, gain a great collection of stories, play as many different musical instruments as possible
ABOUT ME
I am enthusiastic about life, especially as it's lived with people and captured in words.
I am an American college student studying Philosophy and Nonprofit/NGO Leadership (so I won't make any money. it's a good thing I love the things I study!)
I love to talk to people about the things they love.
some of my favorite things to talk about (and LISTEN about!) are faith, academic topics, food, music (guitar, bass, mandolin, and anything else), family and change in society
Having come from a close-knit family, I love to be around families.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to jump into any new experience with excitement and enthusiasm, but I also think that the un-examined life loses much richness. So I really value thinking deeply about the experiences, people, and ideas I encounter.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now, I'm mostly just a surfer, seeing as I don't have my own place to offer, but I'm up for coffee, depending on how much of an essay crisis I'm in!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, most philosophy, The Chosen, Blue Like Jazz, and lots more
Music: (a constantly changing variety that doesn't exclude any genre)
Movies: I enjoy movies a lot, but I more enjoy the social aspect of talking about them with people afterwards
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Yellow Stone National Park in the western US, our family drove around a corner on a road on the edge of a cliff...and were immediately surrounded by a stampeding herd of bison. We stopped, of course, and for several minutes, these huge animals ran by our car at full speed, inches away from us, in the closest encounter I've ever had with such immense wild animals.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be up to offer a few guitar lessons. You tell me what song you love and want to learn, and I'll do my best to get you to be able to play it.
I've got some pretty good wall-painting skills that I'd be wiling to share.
I'd love to learn as much of other languages as I can cram into my head in a few days. Also, I'd love to learn to make new foods!
