About Me

Joined from a recommendation of a close friend. I'm benevolent, outgoing, and very talkative. My home is LGBT safe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Recommended by a friend to join, as I tend to travel alone most frequently. I feel like there are two distinct views on travelling somewhere: you either absorb culture through the attractions, or you absorb it through the people you meet. I tend to put myself in the latter of those two! I would rather swap stories with you at the pub then go to the museum. With that said - I do have a fond love of art, animals, and the eccentric - so I often find myself at the museums, or going horseback riding, or hiking, while travelling. The difference is every few hours I need to stop, grab a beer, and just relax.

Interests

Cats! I want to talk about your cat. Or a cat you know. Or your friend's cat. cat. cats.catcatcat. But really, I also like dogs(ish).

Cars! I'm an automotive enthusiast. Want to learn how cars and engines work? I will literally talk all day. Want to talk about yours? Mine? Let's swap stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm in a cover band for which I play drums. I'm a percussionist practicing for about 20 years, and have taught for about 10 of those.

I'm an avid reader of mostly sci-fi, tween, and fiction. I tend to avoid repeat authors. I definitely dabble in self-help and nonfiction. I go through about a book a week!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about nearly anything engineered.
I also teach percussion at the local high school, and have been teaching for about a decade.

I want to learn what you know about the world that I don't. Where have you been, and what was it like? Should I go there?

What amazing things do you know?

I will share everything I can with you - I'll feed you, get you drunk, give you a place to sleep, let you play with my cat, and give you a ride if you need it (maybe we'll go out in the Cobra!)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can fix anything. Car, house, whatever. And I'm happy to share!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Canada, England, Mexico, Netherlands, South Korea, Turkey
