Overview
About Me
I grew up on the beaches of southern california and was involved with the early surf culture of the 1960's. I found my way to the mountains took up rock climbing, worked at it, scared myself a couple of times then mellowed into a backpacker. This lead to international travel with my thumb and backpack through Europe ,Africa, South America, Asia,Australia, and New Zealand.
Curiosity about the world and its people and an interest in science and exercise has served me well in this life.
Life partner Eloise-Grandfather x 5.
Addendum: From late april until early june 2016 I will be walking the California Coastal Trail from San Francisco to the Mexican border to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes research. Hope to meet some couchsurfers along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The Utopian idea of people helping people appeals to me. Couchsurfing seems a modern expression of this old idea. In more than 50 years of traveling around the world I have learned that people are basically good and want you to have a good impression of their country and their culture. Often people with the least are the most generous and we could all learn from that.
