About Me

Ooooh. Well. I like people, I'm curious about lots of things. Most of my jobs have been in environmental activism and politics and I'm pretty engaged but also a wee bit jaded. I love dancing (badly), poetry, and... a third thing I can't remember right now. I'm laid back and uptight in equal and opposite ways. I'm bi and queer-friendliness is a must. I don't drink (heart condition) and like to socialize but my late late nights are pretty well behind me. If I could live anywhere I'd live in a cabin in Vancouver island. Wow I didn't know that until just now... if you live in a cabin on Vancouver island, let's talk. I try to challenge myself and keep an open mind. Arrivederci. Oh! And I'm lactose intolerant.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am afraid of strangers but love people. A paradox, I know. I think Couchsurfing can help me resolve that! It's a cool idea, since I really want to see what life is like when I travel... also it's about sharing and that is beautiful. I can't believe strangers would host me! How exciting. I look forward to hosting when my travels are done...

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: preferably live, with a welcoming dance floor. I'm not a music fanatic though. Movies: Love docs. RomComs are my guilty pleasure. Priscilla Queen of the Desert blew my mind. Books: Mmm... poetry, history, queer stuff... or anything really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stood next to a river of lava. It was hot.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach... I've taught ESL, poetry, and Spanish (to my mother, unsuccessfully). I love learning languages and simply about people's lives in different places and circumstances. "Sharing is caring." - Beavers
