Interests

I am interested in history, politics, music, travel, maps, food (lots of), drink (lots of)...... I once performed on stade when I lived in the Netherlands in a play called Touched in 2008.... I only contacted the director to see if he wanted any volunteers for back stage stuff. I have also stood in 2 elections for the council of my home city (a centre left party) and lost. Now I work for that council, so it's a bit odd working with (and for) my former opponents in politics. Above all I like to have a laugh and a good old moan too.... Friends always say I'm funny.... I do lots of impressions and accent and can have a quick tongue :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Welcome to Rich & Pete’s home. We hope you have a nice stay and make yourself at home too! Here are a few bits of helpful information for you. We work office hours Mon to Fri in different cities so we tend to leave the house early in the morning - You'll have a key so you can come and go as you please. Rich tends to stay up late anyway!

Your room has a king size bed with clean sheets and we'll give you clean towels too. Plenty of plugs to charge devices etc and it's at the rear of the house. Please feel free to read any books etc around the house and ask if you need a map of Birmingham or any other info

Internet - Please feel free to use the internet when you are here on your own devices (just ask if you need to borrow Rich’s laptop when he’s not using it).
We'll provide you with the WiFi code.

Phone - We have a landline too, but we don’t use this to make calls as it’s quite expensive, but if for any reason you need to receive a call from someone else on this. We'll provide you with this.

Laundry – Feel free to use the washing machine. The standard wash is option F on the function dial and 40oC on the temperature dial. This takes just under 2 hours. There are other options on the front of the machine including a quick wash – explained on front of machine. Help yourself to laundry liquid and softner under the sink. We can provide you with a clothes airer to dry your clothes in your room.

Bathroom – Please feel free to use the bath and shower and help yourself to soap, shampoo ect. NB: We tend to use the bathroom between 6am and 7am Monday to Friday as this is when we get ready for work.

Kitchen – Feel free to use all equipment and help yourself to basics such as, tea, coffee, milk, bread, herbs & spices etc. If you want to buy yourself food to cook that’s also ok.

Happy to share evening meals, although we tend to cook simple stuff on work nights, so you are also welcome to cook your own food if you wish. Happy to pre-arrange cooking a more "fancy" dinner :-)
