I'm outgoing, laid back and adventurous. I will randomly throw in quotes from movies and songs mid sentence. I think that the best part of a trip isn't just about the destination but the journey and unique individuals you meet along the way. For me sharing laughs in the good company of others is it's own reward.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined this site to meet other like minded people who want to share in the adventure of making new memories. What amazes me to this day is that everyone has their own life experiences that they bring with them. Bringing a bunch of people together with these different perspectives makes for some awesome moments.. Lets talk over some drinks, coffee or tea!

Interests

I have a deep passion for producing music, it's just something that I've always felt connected with. I'm interested in experiencing new places, meeting new people, and the culture the way a local would. I want to try out as many different types of food as I can. Although, Chicago still has the best pizza and pizza pies ;), speed and mountain biking, rollerblading, hiking, practicing yoga half assed although I still try(recovering from an injured shoulder), and attempting to obtain omnipresent supergalactic oneness.

Music, Movies, and Books

Show me your taste in music I keep an open mind. Some artist include Deadmau5, Bassnectar, Alina Baras, and Odesza. Aside from electronic there's Breaking Bejamin, Panic at the disco, Imogen Heap, I especially love Coldplay, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Incubus. If we listen to any of the last three your in for an impromptu singing session. I'm passionate about music because it transcends languages, space and time universally bringing people together.

For movies I would say there are too many to list them all. To name a few, Tropic Thunder, The Illusionist, Fight Club, Interstellar, George Clooney Batman as well as the newer ones, any of the Oceans heist movies, 21, Con Air.

Any of Michael Crichton's work Jurassic Park, Prey, Andromeda Strain, Stephen Kings novels, pretty much any Science fiction novels!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While I was traveling through South Korea in 2008 I had the opportunity to do a templestay with Korean seon (zen) buddhists at the Golgulsa Temple. I first learned meditation when they woke us at the butt crack of dawn to meditate. The purpose was to center themselves, their thoughts and awareness to their surroundings. Needless to say I was not mentally prepared, I fell asleep sitting upright and eventually tipped over. Embarassing? yes haha. But, it did give the group a good laugh. By the end of the week I was completely entranced by their routine. Their perspective on life moved me. From my day to day life, to the exposure to theirs. It's something that to this day changed my ideology towards everything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to be able to teach someone the basics of martial arts or even some of the things I've picked up teaching myself music.

I am open to learn just about anything, tell me about your perspective on life, your reasoning. Let's share philosophical ideas and exchange jokes.

I can share personal experiences, funny retail stories to the ins and out of cell phones. If it's within my ability even as a guest I will offer my help with anything that's needed.
