Overview
About Me
I grew up in the Federal state of Thuringia in Germany, close to Weimar and went to High School in Jena. After finishing my undergrad degree in Glasgow I moved to London for my postgraduate studies.
For some references, check out the account of my old Glasgow flatmate, Ellie Marinova!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I grew up in a couch surfing family. Hospitality and the wish to travel are attributes I probably inherited from my parents together with the ability to drink Slovak schnapps :)
When my mum was my age she wanted to learn how to say "I love you" in all possible languages in case she was going to meet "the one" when she was travelling other countries. My language skills are a bit more applicable one might say.The first thing I learn after "Hello" and "Thank you" is normally how to order two pints for me and whoever is travelling with me.
Interests
I'm very interested in new renewable energy technologies in general and photovoltaic technologies in particular, hence the choice of chemical physics as my undergrad.
Besides I have a very broad interest in anything and everything politics. Generally don't shy a way from a discussion and love to hear others perspectives about the world we live in!

Music, Movies, and Books
Hm... Thats tough.
I would probably have to say:
Loyle Carner is being played quite often lately. Also Jungle and Kiasmos are some of my all time favourites (not mixed though... Very different vibes!).
Favourite Writer: Hermann Hesse
Favourite Movie: In Bruges (Never got to visit Bruges though :) )
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Biking, skiing, hiking, swimming, paddling through various European countries and learning a lot about people there.
My time in Glasgow and all the amazing couch surfers my flatmates and I had the chance to host.
Teach, Learn, Share
Anything you wanna know about organic photovoltaics haha
Besides I can tell you about what Germans think of Angela Merkel, how Brexit is debated in Britain, how to drink Slovak schnapps or order two beers in Finnish.
