About Me

Hey there, I'm Richard, and I'm a college student at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee! I travel a lot, and so I look forward to getting to know many of you as we travel around the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I know that the whole "Couchsurfing is a community" line is a bit of a cliche by now, but I really think it's true, and that's one of the reasons I've decided to go with this instead of Airbnb. I realize that there might be times that I'm just going to be in your house for one night, but I am drawn and excited by how this community connects, and I want to be a part of it.

Part of the reason I want to do this is that I "unofficially Couchsurfed" when I went to a retreat that was an out-of-town trip for me a few years ago. They had housing for those who needed it, and I got a spare room in the apartment of two older gentlemen. The experience of getting to know them and spending time with them was much better than the previous experiences I had had on Airbnb, and so I think this would be a great option instead of that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading books related to my three main fields of study: religion, psychology, and history. Much of my interest is in human interaction. I also enjoy biographies. On the fiction side of things, I enjoy Fantasy, Science Fiction, Mysteries, and Historical Fiction.

I don't watch many movies, but my all time favorite is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail." I love any film that can make me laugh!

Music-wise, I'm eclectic. I was raised on classic rock, but I have grown to love show tunes, religious music, orchestral music, as well as a very small amount of pop.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn. I soak up information like a sponge. Whatever you have to teach or share, I'm interested in it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can and will cook upon request! I'm also willing to share some of the music I've got on Spotify and I love to trade recommendations!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, Greece, Italy
