About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Pursuing freedom. If I must work, I want a job I can do from anywhere, so I may follow the sun and favourable exchange rates. Come on world, we have Skype and email!

In keeping with this, pursuing eBook fame and sustainable journalism (by which mean, journalism that consistently sustains me:)

If you'd like to read a bit about my travels, look up 'Never Drive A Hatchback to Austria', my first book!

ABOUT ME

They'd say I am a very tenacious person, always pursuing distant dreams (professional golf, eBooks, outback truck driving, etc) with unnatural gusto. They'd say I'm funny, insightful and a good listener. They'd say I'm frugal. They'd say I'll never stop travelling. They'd say I'm interested in people and their stories. They'd say I'm always trying to practice the various languages I'm learning. They'd say I'm cynical and mad, but in a good way.

PHILOSOPHY

If it's worth doing 'one day', it's worth doing now.
I am a Man of Action.
9-5 is dead, long live telecommuting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed in Japan, China and Australia...and hosted just once so far. I currently live in Vienna and am willing to host. Just to be clear, I grew up in Cape Town and am FROM Cape Town, but I live/host in Vienna.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Oh, it's been simply divine! Invariably fantastic people, and someone to talk to, and someone to show me their city. Why oh why would you stay in a hotel?
