About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"What you are speaks so loudly, that I cannot hear what you say."

ABOUT ME

Its all about survival - although i might argue the definition of the "fittest." I'm learning and re-learning adaptation and secret planning to make the world seem to turn in my direction. Forward thinking, forward motion - I want to be a dreamer that lives in his headspace rather than be wishing his way there.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that anything good, no matter how long, for whatever reason, must be treasured. If you are to have a good thing for one moment and lose it, it is better than never having it.

I believe that your gut intuition knows best, and i believe you should commit yourself wholly to whatever you do.

I believe you make your own path - fate can wrestle me to the ground.

I believe you should actively participate in your community.
Listen. Think. Vote. Activate. Engage.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm active in the CS community in the towns I roll through, I try to stay at least connected to the ideas and events happening locally as well as to introduce new people to Couchsurfing as a way to travel, or even live. When my home was a little more permanent, I hosted as often as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a little - In Cape Town and in Istanbul, both experiences being fantastic ways to get to know the secrets of a town, and to get a local perspective on the issues at hand that lonely planet or the internet may not have equipped you for. And that's without asking too many questions. CS'rs are usually chill, sensible, full of hospitality, and enjoy a good political conversation.

Interests

I'm a filmmaker by education and by trade, not that I have enough things produced to be a real teamster. I did, however, just finish principal photography as director/cinematographer on a friends project funded out of our pockets and shot on 24p HD. I'll let you know how that goes apres release.

Lately I have really gotten into canoeing and kayaking, and for a lack of boat, am always eager to join in on a trip into the wild, especially if it involves camping and overnight.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sat with Gorillas in the jungle of Rwanda. I've had a great white shark inches from my face. I've Sea Kayaked in the Western Hebrides of Scotland, I've Climbed the Buckle in Glen Coe. I've stood in the standing stones of the Orkneys and I've been mugged at knife point in Cape Town. I've walked with Lions, been chased by hippos and have climbed into the belly of a pyramid. I've dated a princess, and loved a free spirit. I've stood in the centre of temagami and been centred. Even with the blackflies.

Teach, Learn, Share

Many small, achievable changes often accomplish more than trying to fix the world in a single swoop. Make yourself better, one step at a time, and the world will follow.
