About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see this world I live on; while I am still alive - at 68 years old - I better get started!!!

ABOUT ME

I have never met a stranger and love to talk with people; hearing their stories and giving my own.

I am personally a little Geeky open minded and easy to get along with. I also am a retired missionary and have always been involved with computers; from DO NOT FOLD SPINDLE OR MUTILATE (You probably don't know what that means); to President of the Costarran Users Club and now Systems Manager for the company I work for, it has always been part of my life.

I love "Through The Worm Hole" because of the questions he ask. They are some of the same ones I ask myself - Like; "What was there before 'In The Beginning'?"

I love to fish as often as I can; and I love flowers. Gardening is a chore, don't love that part too much; but it is part of getting the flowers I want and I am willing to do the work to get them.

After that, I love to travel - the US - Over Seas - Europe - Crusing - you name it!! I want to go there!!

PHILOSOPHY

I have never met a stranger and love to talk with people.

I like conversations with people that have been somewhere and seen things. I love to hear their stories and to give my own.

I have lived in Communes while in Seminary. And as a missionary, I have lived in other people's homes. I have also hosted ministers and visitors from the states, as a missionary. So, I know how to live with other people and enjoy it.

I do not want to impress any one and am not easily impressed. But I do love people and love to find out their life stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't read much, I have in the past but don't find time to do that now. I don't listen to music much either, if I do; I like instrumentals (no words) classical - jazz - what ever. I go to the moves seldom also; but do watch a fair amount of TV and browse on the computer. Or I am outside - fishing - gardening or barbecuing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As a Minister during the "Jesus Movement" and a missionary for 20 years; I can tell you some stories!! From the small villages in the Upper Amazon River to the upper rooms of Metropolitan Cities; I have had the opportunity to see and be a part of some amazing things.

I can tell you for the day I was kidnapped at gun point or the day in Nicaragua when the vice president was taken hostage along with most of the parliament.

Or I can tell you about what life is like in New Orleans on Mardis Gras Day or about the coffee house I had on Bourbon Street for 2 years or the fish I caught that hung of my ice box both his head and tail.

And so much more; but you probably will not come to visit me for my stories. I would love to hear yours too!!

Teach, Learn, Share

When I grew up, we came from a family that was poor; but we didn't know it. We thought everyone was like that. So, I am simple minded at heart and can identify with the simplest of people - believe me as a minister and missionary, you see lots of those people.

But As I grew up; I had the opportunity to go places and learn things. I have learned how to speak with people with many types of life styles and levels of education. - I love them all!! Travelers - businessmen - Geeks . . . with Geeks, I do not Geek speak well; even though I do that for a living. The people I support - (at work) think it is a different language and they don't understand it; so I have learned to migrate my "Geek speak" with ordinary language and simplify it so almost everyone understands it. - Well almost everyone; some still think I speak a different language some times.

I find many type of people interesting; and if they are bold enough to ask to stay in another person's home, they must have some very interesting stories to share!!!
