ABOUT ME

I'm very easy going, respectful of others, sensitive to nuances, concerned about others, but able to define my boundaries in a humorous and matter of fact way. I value communication and do my part to deliver and make others feel comfortable to do the same.

I look for the positives and actively work to resolve challenges as they come up. I'm usually smiling and if not, will be soon :)

In business I am an entrepreneur. I have worked for one of the worlds most powerful corporations making decisions that effected the company and millions of customers around the world. Now I'm doing it "my way" and enjoying the result for the most part.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't sweat the small stuff, look for the positive, enjoy the simple things in life, and respect and accept others, regardless of their station in life.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am an excellent cook - depending on the meal. I leave things as I found them if not better. I'm a whiz with computers and am always up for tuning, tweaking basic to moderately complex setups. I pitch in with chores - as appropriate. To sum it up, I try to make my contribution a positive one with no annoying memories.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done this before when I was a Hippie (yes, a real one in San Francisco and Big Sur) back in the day, but have rarely done it with strangers since then.

Centres d'intérêt

International policy, strategy, politics (as appropriate!), hiking, the beach, sunny places, rediscovering and reinventing myself, anything related to computers, technology, and how they can help or change a persons life, how people work and connect, or how the world works. Except games - never been into computer games.

Action and sci-fi (I know, how typical :) Blues, Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, did I say blues? Spa music (New Age). Books on strategy, business, reflections on mankind (Jung etc.)

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Watched the sun rise and set on the East side of Maui (Hana), worked for, and with one of the most influential men in the world, helped shape the way computing is done today, represented a large company to the Department of Justice and been one of a small number of folks who attended meetings between the two organizations. Hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon - and back out! Been to Monument Valley, Four Corners, and many, many other amazing parts of our world. I know there is more, but for now, that's a good start :)

Teach / Share - economic strategies used by other countries to disadvantage U.S. companies (how exciting eh? :) Anything related to computers and whatever else I know and you'd like to know.

A knowing smile, a warm heart, a welcome to the area I've been lucky enough to live in, good conversation, be it lite or geopolitical economics, and of course, answers or help with most things tech.

I know a lot about the San Francisco culture and music scene of the '60s & '70s and how that has shaped our culture and even the devices we use today!

Occasionally a bottle of great to the best Merlot, and although I can't drink it anymore, I have some of the best aged Anjeo Tequila you'll find ;)
