About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make sure I come in contact with every molecule available

ABOUT ME

I've got an itch for exploring every nook and cranny I can- attention deficit in its most useful context. I make a huge effort to make relationships personal and base them on own experience with a person rather than relying on gossip or 3rd party info.

PHILOSOPHY

Different cultures share more ethics and morals than most people expect.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Always, I've had memorable experiences with every host. I try early on to gather what is culturally expected, but try to bring in my own experience to contribute a memorable experience for the host. My only non-positive(neutral) Couchsurfing experience is from a host who was under the misguided impression my friend and I would be sleeping...with him. My gossip is nearly non-existent, but explanation is sometimes necessary. I'm never the expert when staying as a guest and learn something new every time.

Interests

Like a lot of you I really enjoy exploring in a huge number of ways. I aim for a book a week and check into a a ludicrous amount of news sources throughout the day. I'm heavy into behavior analysis and neuroscience and have spent more than a few hours building an electroencephalograph and electrical brain stimulator with a nine volt. I love to exercise but bicycling takes the cake for me. I ride a motorcycle, as often as possible, for my daily commute. If you know something, I probably know enough about it to have a conversation about it. Always, ALWAYS, looking to expand my horizons, and if you have a passion I'm unfamiliar with I'll be equally passionate to learn about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Heavy into fiction in my youth and expanded into non-fiction later in life. From fantasy to biographies to the internment camps of North Korea, I'll read a huge variety of literature. My musical tastes have been described as "rainy day," with a largely acoustic preference but enjoy heavy beats for the right moments.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2008, I traveled by Greyhound from Ohio to Pittsburgh to meet 2 friends midway from their respective homes. The last night we were in town, we busted out. Hooters, Dave and Busters, the whole nine yards of debauchery. On the way back to our rented house we pulled up alongside some young ladies and my buddy, driving, rolls down the window and inquiries into their well-being...they tell us to follow them and 45 minutes out of town we land in a run-down strip mall, po-dunk Pennsylvania, and some type of industrial factory at the end of the parking lot. You're thinking Saw IV, I know, but hang tight. We've landed at a rave, and the place is just packed. Lights, sounds, bass and movement, and the first rave for all of us. We're blown away by the stimuli before even stepping inside. 2 hours later, sweat pouring, lights blazing, most people just blown, I get a tug on the shoulder and my buddy has brought a visitor. He finds a girl we both went to college with for A SINGLE SEMESTER. Mind you, we're nowhere near the college, we have 46,000 square miles of Pennsylvania to explore, and we follow the random invite of a group of girls who very well could have sawed our limbs off in the woods behind the lot. My two friends and I come back to her apartment in Pittsburgh, chat marvelous philosophy life and memories, and walk around the city until the sun comes up. Beautiful, beautiful memories, and happening only by fortuitous events we very well could have avoided with enough caution.
