About Me

Friendly, quiet and generally a relaxed person. I'm interested in meeting people and making new friends.

I may seem overly polite but I'm just British. I come from Hertfordshire just north of Greater London. Thankfully that's the nice British accent.

PHILOSOPHY

Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them.

This is a new one - Relax and be happy

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people and make friends, share stories and good company.

When I emigrated to Norway I made the mistake of working really long hours and never meeting anyone. After I quit things have been great, a little less economical perhaps but I've made so many friends. I'm now travelling around with my stuff and picking up contract work as I go. I'm currently free for a couple of months, so this seems like the best way to spend my time.

Interests

Making friends, people in general, sports, the outdoors, scuba, stand-up comedy, learning snowsports (I'm British so snow is foreign to us), various ways of chilling; sofas, coffee, pub, cooking, eating, movies, reading, chatting, things, etc...

Also... learning Norwegian so that I can study Pedagogy and move to the countryside. I'd like to spend more of my life around people and in nature. I have this odd dream about keeping bees, chickens and fishing. Simple things.

Music, Movies, and Books

A bit of everything really but I find myself chilling to a lot of ambient these days. I go to concerts which have been great experiences. I really wanted to go to Glastonbury last year but I spent my money backpacking around Asia instead so it's still on my todo list.

I watch too many movies on the sofa and books... I should read more. Maybe you can recommend me a good Mankell book to read in Norwegian?
