ABOUT ME

Howdy I'm generally a fun loving eccentric person. Food is one of my biggest passions. I'm quite clean (possibly even fastidious at times), courteous and thoughtful both at home and while traveling. I enjoy lots of walking or biking as a mode of transportation (Although not adverse to a car or bus ride, obviously as I flew here). I'm comfortable in lots of settings at bougie fashionable parties or out in the woods camping and hiking, there is fun to be had everywhere.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have stayed with 2 separate hosts in Europe. (Amazing experiences)! But I've done my fair share of staying with friends while working the summer season waiting tables or private chefing. I don't/haven't hosted at my home through couchsurfing as there is a constant stream of house guests here already! Friends friends of friends etc. etc. I've even had friends camp in my yard for quite a spell too!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books...
I mostly love to read memoirs, nonfiction books or maybe historical fiction. It's fascinating to hear someone tell their tale weather it is David Sedaris or Eleanor Roosevelt. I'm usually more compelled to read if it's something that has happened or gives me a sense of history. Every now and again I like to read some fantasy or a fluffy novel.
Movies...
I watch more documentaries than anything else I suppose, but I do love some good eye candy IE Moulin Rouge! I'm not too picky I just try and let a move sweep me away and be entertained. (Although usually I'd much rather take a walk)!
Music...
I'm an avid music lover old 4AD and everything from Mercedes Sosa, Nina Hagen, Daft Punk, Dolly Parton and just about everything in between. I have a huge music colletion.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Although I'm not a scuba "junkie" it is probably one of the most amazing if not the most beautiful things I've seen/done. I love the brilliant and amazing feast for the eyes that the underwater world brings. Surprisingly my favorite dive was a wreck dive off the coast of Ahmed in Bali. The colors were amazing and it didn't look like a ship any more, as so much of the boat had been salvaged. What was left was so encrusted with creatures it looked more like a giant animal skeleton covered with new life. I also just did a few dives in the sonotes in the Yucatan Peninsula...talk about surreal!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm so lucky to do what I do for a living as it just started out as a passion. I never thought I'd cook and teach cooking for a living. So I'm more than happy to share what I've learned the last 40+ years. As well as pick up a few new tricks. I've also studied yoga and taught some of that as well.
