About Me

Hello everyone,

My name is Richard and today, I'm thirty.
When I was a little boy and imagined what my life would look like when I grew up, I dreamed myself as an astronaut, flying over countries and floating in the air. I am pretty sure my passion for travel was born at that specific moment.

Today, as a French from France and soon citizen Canadian, the country where I live for 5 years now, I am curious to discover other countries, other cultures, opinions, landscapes on future trips, and to see the details through the eyes of the locals.

Looking forward to learning more about you :)

Richard

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On the advice of friends in fact. Like everyone else, I was thinking more about traveling in youth hostels (not hotels, too impersonal), but today I really want to go to meet local people and know all the little things that build a city's reputation, its secrets, Good plans, to discover the quintessence of a culture in a rather short time.

I would like to have more time but I have to go to the job :)

Interests

I like to do sports, hiking, spending time outside and get lost in the cities I visit.

  • animals
  • hiking
  • surfing

Music, Movies, and Books

I was recently very inspired by Idriss Abram's book '' Liberating Your Brain ''. This neuroscience researcher, barely 30 years old, and graduated with three doctorates explains how the machine we possess in mammals can exploit more than we do today.

I believe a lot in human capital and collective intelligence, so I recommend this book for all the curious on the subject.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to live a year in the northern Canadian territories, in a very northern town where the aurora borealis dances every night.

After a year spent in Montreal, and several in Europe in big cities, I wanted to live a unique experience by going to a small recluse town of this gigantesque country.

I worked with people with reduced mobility and had to spend all my free time outside with a -50 degrees in winter. This makes relativize about our lives in big cities.

Teach, Learn, Share

I mean I am very curious and very open minded so let's see what we can learn from each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share the passion for travel, tips and advice from different countries where I have had the chance to live. My good luck and my positive approach to the things of life.
I am always ok to discover and do new things :)
