About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am eager to explore more cultures places, insights and new ideas

ABOUT ME

I have enjoyed traveling all my life and am setting off on another chapter into the world. Growing up, I enjoyed traveling with my family throughout Europe then continued exploring the world through College by studying abroad in Argentina and backpack through South America to Colombia. After a couple of years, the town of Cusco, Peru called to me and I participated in a volunteer program there for a summer.

That sparked my ambition to not just travel but also help others in doing so. I have been working at a travel agency for the last three years absorbing as much as I can about amazing places yet to visit. Not to just see but also to experience the local culture and leave a positive impact.

Recently, I have realized my yearning to set off an explore these places for myself. After countless conversations and day dreams about exotic places, my girlfriend and I decided to pack up and see them for ourselves. We are exited to participate in the global culture and get to know people around the world and all the beauties this amazing planet has to offer.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is that many people in this world live their lives not knowing what is outside their hometown, they draw their own conclusions about the rest of the world without ever setting foot into the unknown. I want to see as much of the world before it changes to drastically and meet as many people in this world as I can and give what i have learned from these people back to people that are close to me. There is always something to be learned and i want to learn it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in anyway I can. Although I won't have a couch to offer at this point in my life. I certainly will when the opportunity arises.

For now, I can participate by interacting and being in the present while visiting new places. I am fascinated by the different ways people live their daily life and I love participating hands on through food ( I love cooking), conversation, exploring locally and/or any other way where I can partake in life rather then just visit.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been couchsurfing 'unofficially' all my life. Throughout the years, I have found that each home I have visited is very unique and each experience introduces me to friends I did not know I had yet.

I have experienced the wonderful network of couchsurfing.org while traveling throughout South America and have had the pleasure to stay in places throughout the continent including small towns on the norther coast of Chile, the mountains of Peru, Ecuador and Colombia and have made true friends throughout.

Interests

Anything and Everything. My moto is "If someone else enjoys something, I will try it" especially with Food! I love connecting with mother nature and experiencing beaches, mountains, deserts, jungles and anything in between. I am a firm believer in the global citizen and want to experience as much as the world as I can. I love sharing ideas and learning new things.

My girlfriend, Lauren, and I are embarking on an epic trip around the world beginning with a trip up the Pacific Coast before heading to South East Asia and beyond. We both enjoy being active, cooking delicious food, learning about food and being present in the moment.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like independent films, films in subtitles and well written action films. Music is a huge part of my life and I like everything from Classical, to blues, to hip hop, to jazz, to jam bands, to classic rock, to bluegrass, to experimental, to drum and bass, to reggae, to dub, to rock. If its something i haven't heard then I'll still listen to it to see if I like it. Books I enjoy are On the Road, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Siddhartha, anything from Gustav Klimpt and anything from John Steinbeck.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was young we used to go sailing in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, and travel through Italy and France. I was still young but those are some of the most beautiful places I have seen. Being on stage playing music is an awesome experience and a great way to meet fellow musicians. Traveling Across the United States showed me how massively huge it is, I always had a isolated view of the states living solely on the east coast. My eyes have been opened to the good people of the country and there are many.

In 2011, I was able to spend 4 months living in Cusco, Peru and volunteering at a non profit travel resource where we helped independent travelers connect with locals, hike off the beaten path, organize cultural get togethers and just be a home away from home for wandering souls. Trekking the Andes is truly a lifetime memory and I am really looking forward to experiencing more natural wonders around the world.
