About Me

Hi there- I'm Richelle, a newly graduated veterinarian from BC Canada. I grew up on a west coast hobby farm (think horses, llamas, donkeys, peacocks, etc.) before moving to central Canada for veterinary school. Being from the lovely west coast, I love everything BC has to offer and have strong interests in hiking, horseback riding, nature, camping, kayaking, and the such. I did my undergrad at UBC with a combined major in Biology, Chemistry, and Environment before continuing on to vet school in Saskatchewan where I lived during the (harsh, unforgiving) winters. I just finished up last month and am doing some exploring before moving to work in New Zealand this fall.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I try to travel throughout the year and would love to meet up with new people when I do such!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- ranges a bit from the Cat Empire, the Lumineers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Bastille, the Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, Jack Johnson, etc.
Movies- the Green Mile, Lord of the Rings, the Prestige, Pixar's UP
Books- historical fiction (the Century Trilogy, Pillars of the Earth) , science (Genome, The once and future world), and fantasy (a Song of Ice and Fire, His Dark Materials) books seem to be a common theme in my library.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cheese rolling at the Whistler Cheese Festival- chasing a 20 pound wheel of cheese in a race to the finish down a steep hill. It was completely as glorious and dignified as it sounds.
