About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a Seattle native currently working as a college counselor to Chinese students in Beijing! I travel whenever I get the chance, usually some place awesome in Asia. I'm a serial expat, spicy food lover and I go salsa dancing almost every weekend.
I also spend a lot of time working on my travel blog Adventures Around Asia www.adventuresaroundasia.com
PHILOSOPHY
The life you live is all about what you prioritize. I always try to put my time, effort and money into the things that mean the most to me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm willing to host people on my couch while I'm home, and I'd love to try couchsurfing when I travel (which is often!)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't surfed yet but I've heard great things from my friends!
Interests
traveling to new places, trying new foods, dancing, befriending stray cats, travel blogging, making friends with random Chinese people on sleeper trains, taking too many photos with my DSLR, drinking cheap red wine, and trying not to get hit by bikes and cars while walking around the hutongs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading the Game of Thrones Books as well as the Four Hour Workweek. Slightly obsessed with Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Game of Thrones (books and movies/tv shows). I'm currently really into the tv show Fringe on Netflix along with How to Get Away with Murder. I enjoy pretty much all music, from latin kizomba to awesome electric mixes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time I accidentally signed up to run a 6k in the jungles of Hainan while wearing a dress. It was a crazy experience and I met a lot of great middle-aged Chinese people who hazed me and my friends by making us sit on bags of ice while chugging beer because.. we were foreign?
For more ridiculous misadventures, feel free to check out my blog www.adventuresaroundasia.com
Teach, Learn, Share
I've traveled a lot, especially in Asia, and I love giving people tips on where to go and what to see in places I've been. I also speak decent-ish Mandarin so I can pretty much get around in China on my own. I also know basic kung fu and all 10 styles of ballroom dance.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you basic mandarin, cook decently well, and give you salsa lessons!
