ABOUT ME

Hey Surfers!

My name is Rich and I am a 28 yr old Aussie lawyer who is Melbourne born and bred. I have always loved travelling and meeting interesting people from all over the world. I live in a town house with my older brother Rob near the centre of Melbourne...so would love to have some surfers come stay with us.

I'll be happy to show you Melbourne (well the nightlife at least!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was a couch surfing virgin back in 2008 while I was travelling around Europe!

I really wanted to try in when I was travelling in Europe but only found out about it at the end of my trip!

Therefore, now that I'm back in Australia, I thought why not try hosting some people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sun set over thousand year old temples at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. You could only imagine how amazing they must have been when they were built because they leave you feeling in awe today.

The term "mate" in Australian english can literally be used for anybody..for example you may say to your best friend..'How are you mate?' but then you may also say to a complete stranger 'Thanks mate'. You can even also use it in an insult! Such as "Listen mate, you really piss me off..." The term itself is universal! So when an Australian calls you mate, don't be surprised!
